Discussion includes a family history; his early musical influences; his early radio experience; working at WNOX Knoxville; WNOX performers who later appeared on the Grand Ole Opry; the role of Lowell Blanchard; working with Archie Campbell; his musical style; memories of early WNOX performers, including the Loden family, Claude Boone, Arthur Q. Smith, Molly O'Day, and Bill Carlisle; examples of his performances from Mid-Day Merry-Go-Round and Good Morning Show; his songwriting; and his decision to pursue a career outside of music.
